Doon the Watter with the Waverley

Thurday 15th July

Following our pick-ups we head off to the Westerwood Hotel. With stops en route we hope to arrive with time to relax (or take a dip in the pool) before our evening meal.

Friday

Following breakfast, we depart our hotel at 8.30am to make our way to meet the Waverley Paddle Steamer for our 8-hour adventure 'Doon The Watter'. The Waverley is the world's last seagoing passenger paddle steamer, lovingly restored to evoke her late-1940s appearance. On board enjoy watching the magnificent steam engine in action, relax on deck, or enjoy refreshments while taking in views of the Firth of Clyde. Arriving at the charming Victorian seaside town of Rothesay, there is time to stroll the promenade, or simply soak up the atmosphere before rejoining the ship for our leisurely return voyage. We return for a slightly later evening meal tonight.

Saturday

This morning we visit the remarkable Falkirk Wheel, the world's only rotating boat lift, where you will experience a unique boat trip as the Wheel gently raises or lowers you 24 metres between the Forth & Clyde Canal and the Union Canal. With a stop off at The Kelpies to end a perfect day.

Sunday

Today we enjoy a leisurely departure at 10.00am as we commence our journey back to Leeds.
