Set in traditional 1950s coaches, hauled by a beautiful steam locomotive, on board Derbyshires longest heritage railway with a delicious three course lunch included.
We commence our journey from Wirksworth - the heart of where it all began! Wirksworth is a large station at the northerly end of the line and the main base. Officially opened on the 9th October 2019 by the Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire Willy Tucker, the new Museum and Association shop at Wirksworth features an interesting array of railway-related artefacts, information about the railway and interactive displays. The Association shop features heaps of both railway-related and other topic books for you to rummage through, as well as model railway items, DVDs and other gifts.
Watch the countryside slip gently by on board the steam train. Enjoy a glass of fizz on arrival at your table and during the one hour thirty minute journey, you will be served a freshly prepared three course luncheon of:
Soup of the day with a fresh bread roll
Roast topside of Derbyshire beef, homemade Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables with a side of gravy
Cheesecake of the day with fresh cream
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free option available.
